Joseph O. Hearn, Sr., 85, of Chatom, went home to be with his Savior while surrounded by his family on Sunday, December 25, 2016. He was born to Esther and Oscar Hearn in Citronelle on October 24, 1931 and spent more than 50 years as the owner of Hearn Ford in Chatom. He was an active member of various organizations and charities, as well as a strong supporter of local community projects.
Joe is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lemoyne Hearn; daughter, Terri (Billy) Kendrick; son, Joey (Deena) Hearn, Jr.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Henry "Dewy" Hearn, Esther "Pat" Williams, Eunice Henson, Bea Richardson and great-granddaughter, Kanden Dawn.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. at Lathan Funeral Home in Chatom on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 with Joe's son-in-law, Dr. Billy Kendrick officiating.
The family would like to thank Legacy Hospice and Amedisys Home Health Care and all of the doctors and nurses who cared for him.
