Joseph Edward Powell, 84, of Grove Hill, passed away October 2, 2020 at his home. He was born September 4, 1936 in Carson, AL to Casey Jones Powell and Carrie Batley Powell. Joseph graduated from Auburn University and had a lifelong career in the construction industry, which took him to many places throughout the United States and abroad. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carol Mosley; niece, Renea Porter, and nephew, Andy Powell.
He is survived by his siblings, Clifford Jones Powell, Casey R. (Sandra) Powell, Elane Powell and many other close relatives and friends.
Graveside Services will be at 3 p.m. October 6, 2020, at Pine Grove Methodist Church cemetery with Bro. David Webb officiating and Lathan Funeral Home conducting.
