Juanita Parnell

Juanita Godwin Parnell, 94, of Tibbie, passed away February 7, 2017 at the Washington County Nursing Home. She was born November 28, 1922 in Fairhope.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Parnell; son, William Earl Parnell; daughter, Pearl "Tiny" Boutwell and granddaughter, Pam Parnell.


She leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Raymond (Charlene) Parnell, Rayford (Mandy) Parnell, Rex (Rose) Parnell, Paul David (Vonda) Parnell; daughters, Audrey (Bert) Hankins, Barbara (Bill) Gibson, Claudie (George) DeVaughn, Mary Jane (David Carraway, Flora Reed, Alison (Jeremy) Weaver; siblings, Joe Godwin, Edna (Conan) Davis; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great, great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.


Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Lathan Funeral Home in Chatom with the Rev. Ernest Tucker officiating. Visitation will begin two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow at Fairhope Baptist Church with Lathan Funeral Home directing.


Active pallbearers will be grandsons, Ray Parnell, Scott Hankins, Eric Parnell, Jamie Ramey, Arthur DeVaughn and Winston Tarver.


Honorary pallbearers will be Derek Dearmon and Dillon Dearmon.
