Judy Ann Sullivan Gilley, 69, of Chatom, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2022, at her residence. She was born in Kadas, KY on Sunday, December 7, 1952, to George "Buckshot" Sullivan and Opal Harrison Sullivan, both of whom preceded her in death. A devoted teacher, she had worked with special education students at all grade levels in Chatom. She was a member of Chatom United Methodist Church and Delta Kappa Gamma. She enjoyed fishing, cutting decorative glass, painting ceramics and pictures and cooking for others, but more than anything, she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Foster Gilley; children, Stefanie (Mark) Platt, Brian (Laura) Gilley; grandchildren, Amber Bender, Kassey (J.J.) Crouch, Hayley Platt, Cale Platt; great-grandchild, Waverly Bender; siblings, Sandra (Larry) Harrigill, Peggy (Andy) Williams, Betsy (Harold) Hill, Ricky (Becky) Sullivan and numerous other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at Chatom Town Cemetery with Dr. Holly Morales officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Dylan Greer, Mitchell Greer, Harrison Hill, Tyler Pettway, Ron Pownall, Derrick Sullivan, Phillip Sullivan, Billy Williams and Matt Williams.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Washington County Board of Education, Special Education Coordinator, P.O. Box 1359, Chatom, AL 36518.
