Judy Hudson

Judy Dungan Hudson, 72, of Jackson died November 19, 2023. Judy was born March 23, 1951 to Richard Lee and Lena Bell Dungan. Judy was a graduate of Coffeeville High School, Class of 1969 as well as a member of River Hill Baptist Church. A lover of nature and the outdoors, Judy enjoyed travelling, especially to the Great Smoky Mountains or the Rocky Mountains. She delighted in her garden: her beloved rose bushes and delicious veggies such as squash and green beans. Judy's grandchildren brought an extra special joy to her life. One of her favorite traditions was buying a keepsake ornament from The Christmas Place for each of her grandchildren every year which had their name on it, a tradition begun at her eldest granddaughter's first Christmas. Judy had begun an additional tradition of marking life's milestones with special gifts which will be cherished by her grandchildren for generations to come.

Judy is survived by her children, Heather H. Godwin (Rick) and Brandon Hudson (Heather Turner); grandchildren, Caitlyn Godwin, Chloe Godwin, Haley Hudson, and Drew Hudson; siblings, Katherine Brooks and Robert Dungan as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; dear husband of over 50 years, James "Jimmy" Hudson; and sister, Ruby Chancey.

Services will be held Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at River Hill Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the service begins at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Scott Myers officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Rodney Chancey, Rhett Chancey, Matt Chancey, Jerry James, Derek James and Phillip James.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Coffeeville High School Class of 1969.
