Karen Etheredge

Daisy Karen Etheredge, 76, died June 3, 2023 at her home. Karen was born October 11, 1946 to R. L. and Dorothy Boroughs. Karen loved her Lord with all her heart, she has been a member of Wagarville Baptist Church for many years but had been attending First Baptist Church of Leroy prior to moving. In her younger years, she was fond of woodworking which she had a talent for. She liked to pass her free time reading and watching westerns, especially any of John Wayne's films. Karen was a die-hard Alabama Football fan. She listened to every game and loved just about anything to do with Alabama Football. Above all Karen loved God with her family and friends coming a close second; spending time with her grandchildren was her favorite pastime on Earth.

Karen is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Rufus Boroughs, Cecil Howard and Kathleen Kelly; and daughter, Elizabeth Massey.

She is survived by her children, Lanette (Ray) Grissett and Ben (Teresa) Etheredge; grandchildren, BreAnn (Justin) Diaz, Cameron Massey, Hailey Massey and Ridley Etheredge; and great grandchild, Joseph Diaz.

Services will be held Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Lathan Funeral Home, Jackson. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. and will continue until the funeral service begins at 3:00 p.m. with Bro. Ben Posey officiating. Interment will follow in New Leroy Baptist Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Benjamin Steele, Dylan Daniel, Dale McIntyre, Cameron Massey, Andy Keith and Mary Loper.
