Kimberly Bishop Wade, 62, of Jackson, passed away on December 6, 2024, at USA Medical Center. She was born on March 30, 1962 in Erin, Tennessee. In her earlier years, Kim worked at Vanity Fair for over a decade followed by her career at the hardware store, currently Dozier Hardware, until her retirement. Kim was not one to sit idle so after retirement she found a new calling as a caregiver having assisted many family members and friends in there times of need.
Kim enjoyed reading immensely, especially romance novels and westerns; the westerns she would trade back and forth with her dad as they shared a joy and passion for the genre. Kim will be remembered as a sweet and loving woman who was devoted to her family and friends but especially her children and grandchildren. In their formative years, Kim was her children's most avid supporter. She made sure to attend all their school and extracurricular activities and volunteer whenever the opportunity presented itself.
Kim is preceded in death by her mother, Peggy Faye Allen Claxton, and her brother, Kenny Bishop.
She is survived by her children, Walt (Jody) Wade and Fallon (Adam) Tolbert; grandchildren, Avery Wade and Dax Wade; father, Walter Earl Claxton; brothers, Kevin (Robin) Claxton and Kendall Claxton; sister, Kelia (Wayne) Fralick; her beloved weenie dog and constant companion Rascal as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December12, 2024 at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and service at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Fred Odom officiating.
