Lemuel Henry DuBose III, age 62, died April 23, 2023 at Jackson Medical Center. Lem, as he was affectionately known, was born September 22, 1960 to Melton and Patricia DuBose. He was a member of Stave Creek Baptist Church and proudly served in law enforcement for 35 years, attaining the rank of Chief of Police. He will be remembered by those who knew him as a giving and loving man, a true public servant.
Lem was a man of many talents and interests. One of his favorite accomplishments was the restoration of his 1954 Willys Jeep. He enjoyed spending the day fishing or walking through nature searching for historical artifacts which he would often use in his creations. Lem was extremely talented at woodworking and loved tinkering in his shop.
He survived by his parents, Melton and Particia R. DuBose; son, Joseph Edward (Wendy) DuBose; daughter, Linsey Renee DuBose Stockman; grandchildren, Jaden Christopher DuBose, Emma Day Stockman and Kanaan Dale Stockman; brother, Melton Lambert DuBose and a host of other family and friends.
Services will be held Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Stave Creek Baptist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior. Interment will follow the service in Elias H. DuBose Cemetery. Online condolences can be left at www.lathanfuneralhome.com.
