Lillian Juanita Williams Older exchanged her earthly angel wings for her Heavenly angel wings on Thursday, December 30, 2021. She was born on Wednesday, December 19, 1923 to Herbert Williams and Willie Mae Reynolds Williams. She was raised in Fruitdale, Alabama and after marrying Carl Edward Older, they raised their family in Grand Bay, Alabama. Lillian was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Caring for her family gave her great joy. She was best known for her special pick-me-ups which included chocolate cupcakes, homemade soup and her famous cornbread dressing. She also enjoyed sneaking tasty treats to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lillian had a passion for sewing, needlework, gardening and playing cards. She never passed up an opportunity to spend time with her loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; her children, James Martin Older and Genevia Nell Older Sikes and siblings, James Williams, Myles Williams, Junior Williams, and JD Williams.
She is survived by her siblings, Vivian (Williams) Beech, Kate (Williams) Martin, and Nolan Williams; her children, Linda Mae Older, Michael Edward (Bettye Anne) Older and Carl Douglas (Susan) Older; her daughter-in-law Annie Older; grandchildren Ramon, Don, Juanita, Amanda, Carla, Scott, and Taylor; great-grandchildren Katelin, Justin, Brett, Tucker, Evan, Ryan, Leah, Lora, Lilly and Avery and numerous other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, January 3, 2022 at State Line Cemetery in State Line, MS with the Rev. Steven Petcher officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Scott Older, Ramon Sikes, Rick Smith, Greg Stoll, Evan Smith, Brandon Weaver, Brett Weaver, and Ryan Weaver.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mo Qamarudeen, Herbert Martin, Don Sikes, Justin Sikes, Tucker Sikes, Jimmy Williams and Mark Williams.
Because of her love for children, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the DLEA Ministries or to the First Baptist Church of Grand Bay Kindergarten Program.
