Linda Brown

Linda Howell Brown, 70, of Jackson passed away February 22, 2025 at her home. Linda was born July 11, 1954 to Jimmie David Sr. and Martha Howell. Linda was very personable by nature and never met a stranger. She not only took amazing care of her beloved family but the tenants in her complex as well. Linda was giving beyond measure and always went above and beyond peoples expectations. An excellent cook, Linda was known to provide multiple dishes when asked to bring one to a potluck. It was also common for Linda to check in on tenants with a meal in hand if she knew they were ill or going through a particularly rough time. Linda will be dearly missed by all whose lives have been touched by her generosity.

Linda is preceded in death by her father, Jimmie David Howell Sr.; son, Michael L. Brown; sister, Barbara (Jimmie) Bell; brother, Jimmie David (Teresa) Howell Jr.; and brother-in-law, Edward C. Noble.

She is survived by her husband, Robbie Thompson; daughter, Kristen Barco; grandchildren, Katie Brown, Brooks Burnett, Champ Burnett, Kobi Burnett, Cash Barco and Dylan Brown; great grandchildren, Ava Shephard and Hope Shephard; mother, Martha G. Howell; siblings, Sharon Noble, Melissa (Mark) Harrell, Scott (Carol) Howell, Jason (Jamee) Howell, and Jennifer (Kenny) Clark; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, special tenants, and dear friends.

Services will be held Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Lathan Funeral Home, Jackson. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral begins at 11:00 a.m. with Father Travis Burnett officiating. Interment will follow in Trinity Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Michael Batley, Dent Beard, Bob Broadhead, Michael Bedwell, and Thor Huebner.

Honorary pallbearer will be Joe DuBose.
