Lisa Bowman

Lisa Susan McGahen Harbison Bowman, 58, passed away June 10, 2023. Lisa was born May 18, 1965 in Pennsylvania and moved to Alabama in 1983. She was a member of Jackson First Assembly of God. "To know her was to love her" is a phrase often used but rarely has it been as true as it is regarding Lisa. From her job at the Career Center to her sharing $10 for gas with a stranger to allowing a homeless person to move in until regaining their feet; Lisa was a kindhearted and generous soul who truly enjoyed helping others. She also enjoyed visiting the casinos in her free time where the jangle of the slot machines was music to her ears. Most of all, Lisa loved her family; biological and chosen.

Lisa is preceded in death by her parents, Owen & Donna McGahen and brother, Glen Edward Bubner.

She is survived by her husband, Dan Bowman; children, Nichole Rogers (Jr. "JuJu"), Clarence "Bubba" Harbison (Mary), Richard Harbison (Savannah), Brandon Harbison (Scarlett), Sally "Boomer" Bowman; step-children, Troy Bowman (Emma) Cory Bowman (Margaret), Amanda Bowman; chosen additional parents, Jean & Nello Barbour; siblings, Rose Marie Smith and Gaylee Tillotson as well as a plethora of grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be held Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Jackson First Assembly of God. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the service begins at 12:00 p.m. with Bro. Kevin Lewis, officiating. Interment will follow in Magnolia Lawn Cemetery, Grove Hill.
