Lois Newton

Lois Wade Newton, 86, of Grove Hill, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at her residence. She was born February 3, 1934 in Fulton to Dr. John Robert Wade, Jr. and Vera Robinson Wade. A retired secretary at Grove Hill Memorial Hospital, she was also a member at Bassett Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed watching Bill Gaither videos, reading and family gatherings where she always insisted that everyone have plenty to eat.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Royce Gale Newton.

She is survived by her children, Jacqueline (Kenneth) Brown, Nancy (Billy) Pritchett, Kathy Harrell, Randy (Karen) Newton, Tracy (Amanda) Newton; grandchildren, Jody Pritchett, Clint (Katelyn) Brown, Wendy (Lamar) Parrish, Anthony Harrell, Dillon Newton, Katie (Matt) Harvell: great-grandchildren, John David Pritchett, Jacob Pritchett, Magdelyn Pritchett, Jesse Parrish, Mason Brown, Morgan Harvell; sister, Lorene Steadham and numerous other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Friday, June 26, 2020 at the Henley Cemetery in Fulton with the Rev. Scott Myers officiating. A private family visitation will be conducted prior to the service at Lathan Funeral Home in Grove Hill.

Pallbearers will be Byron Carlisle, Jacob Pritchett, Jody Pritchett, John David Pritchett, Dillon Newton and Matt Harvell.
