Lucie Downey Lightsey, 39, of Jackson, passed away Monday, April 27, 2020 at her residence surrounded by family. She was born in Waynesboro, MS on August 19, 1980 to Jerry Downey and Deborah Fay Brown. She had been employed in the medical records department at Jackson Medical Center. Her many hobbies included party planning, movies, art, music, DIY projects of all kinds, reading, Jeopardy and antiques. An avid fan of The University of Alabama football team, she was especially fond of all aspects of Halloween and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by grandparents, Milton Brown, Grace Miller and great-grandmother and namesake, Lucy Swan McLemore.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Shaun Lightsey; son, Vincent Roman Morris; mother, Deborah Brown; father, Jerry (Vicki) Downey; brothers, Jonathan (Saree) Downey, Stephen (Katie) Downey, Jerry (Melanie) Downey, Noel (Connie) Downey; grandmother, Fay M. Brown; step-sons, Dylan Lightsey, Ian Lightsey; special friends, Chad and Holly Morris, Saree Downey and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be conduced at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at the family residence at 117 Chesley Ave., Jackson, AL with the Rev. B.J. Hales officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be Olivia Autrey, Chris Caten, Andrew Downey, Savanah Downey, William Downey, Chad Morris and Trey Napper.
