Lucille Morgan Deas, 97, of Coffeeville, passed away February 15, 2018 at Jackson Health Care Facility. She was born April 22, 1920 to Frank and Geneva Morgan. A member of New Prospect Baptist Church in Coffeeville, she taught Sunday School there for 60 years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing and cooking among her many other hobbies. She also loved socializing with her numerous friends and guests at the nursing home.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gilmer Deas and all of her siblings.
She is survived by her sons, Davis (Betty Ann) Deas, Alton (Judy) Deas; beloved niece, Mary Alice (Walter Grey) Brooks; grandchildren, Jeffery (Michelle) Deas, Chandra (Darren) Deas, Vince (Kathryn) Deas, Carmen (Walt) Rotch; nine great-grandchildren, six great, great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at New Prospect Baptist Church with Dr. Tony Meinhardt officiating. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Interment will follow the service at the church cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Glenn Brooks, Walt Rotch, Tommy Deas, Darren Deas, Walt Pope and Lance Alexander.
