Mallie Louise Jowers, 84, of Thomasville, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2024. She was born on March 7, 1940, to her parents, Arthur and Mary Lou Smith. She had most recently been a resident of Monroe Manor Nursing Home.

Mallie was a devoted homemaker. She had a very rewarding career in the healthcare industry as a housekeeper. She loved her family and enjoyed caring for each one of them, but Mallie's great-grandchildren were her absolute world. She adored their visits, and they brought such a sweet smile to her face.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bobby Jowers; daughter, Annie Louise Hill; brother, Champ Smith.

She is survived by her daughter, Angela (Jamie) Gates; son, Benny Jowers; grandchildren, Jessie James Gates, Tiffany Louise Jowers, and Katlen Gabrelle Gates; great-grandchildren, Christian Luke Gates, Dawson Elijah Gates, and Charlie Wayne Masters; siblings, Buddy Smith, Shelton (Wanda) Smith, Raymond Smith and Mary (Olin) Hutchinson as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

Graveside services will be held at Hoboken Baptist Church in Sweet Water, Alabama on Saturday, September 14, 2024, beginning at 1:00 pm. Reverend William Faircloth and Olin Hutchinson will be officiating the service with Lathan Funeral Home directing.

Pallbearers will be Keith Barnes, Phillip Jordan, Curtis Gates, James Jowers, Jessie James Gates and Schadd Hummad.

Honorary pallbearers will be the dryer crew at Scotch Plywood Mill.
