Marcus Loper

Marcus Vann Loper, 45, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2023. Marcus was a member of Tibbie Baptist Church. A graduate of Washington County High School Class of 1995, Marcus was a lifelong fan of the Washington County Bulldogs Football team. He had the opportunity to participate in the Special Olympics many times, his best and favorite event being Bocce Ball. Marcus was always a social person; he enjoyed socializing at church, football games and with family. He also spent many happy days at the Educational Center for Independence (ECI - The Arc of Southwest Alabama) in Chatom where he had many friends.

Marcus is survived by his mother, Linda Boroughs Turner; brothers and sister, Byron C. Loper, Marty Loper and Brittany Faulk (William); nephews, Joshua Faulk, Samuel Faulk and Lucas Faulk; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Chapman Loper and step-father, Tommy Turner.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Tibbie Baptist Church with Bro. Woody Baugh officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior and interment will follow the service in Wagarville Baptist Cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.

Active Pallbearers will be Tripp Doggett, Leon Laton, Tracy Loper, Chad Loper, Ricky Savage, Andy Keith, Tommy Keith and Shane Howard.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Nicky Howard, Andy Timothy, Johnny Howard, Ed Robinson, Greg Williams and Grover Loper.
