Margarette Ann Smith, 85, of Jackson, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2020 at her residence. She was born in Grove Hill on November 1, 1934 to William “Sam” James and Mary Lou Odom James. She retired with the credit bureau in Houston, TX and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading and window shopping.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Amos Smith and sisters, Jessie Wimberly and Shirley James.
She is survived by her stepdaughter, Joyce Branch and nephew, Bobby Wimberly.
A graveside service was conducted on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at Antioch Baptist Cemetery with Rev. Benny Harrison officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing.
