Margie Mcilwain

Margie Lee McIlwain, 91, of Laton Hill, passed away March 21, 2017 in Mobile. She was born April 26, 1925 to Thomas Jefferson Williams and Alabama Lee Williams. She was raised in Washington County and was an active member of Laton Hill Baptist Church.


She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Grover McIlwain who passed away September 2, 2012.


She is survived by children, Alton McIlwain, Steve (Jessica) McIlwain, Faye (Sam) Elder, Sharon McIlwain, Jeanette (Ronnie) Gunter, Karen (Marshall) Rainwaters; sisters, Helen Phillips, Tomie Nell (Prentice) Miller; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.


The family wishes to express their love and gratitude to her niece, Shnell Wade, who lovingly provided long-term care for her.


Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 24, 2017 at Laton Hill Baptist Church with the Revs. Don Whigham and Leland James officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.


Pallbearers will be Tharon Williams, David Williams, Dennis Williams, Kelly Wade Williams, Joe Phillips, Jr., Wayne Williams, Jerry Williams, Carl Dean Williams, Bobby Williams and Paul Williams.
