Marion Hinson

Marion Edward Hinson, 57, of Grove Hill, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at his residence. He was born July 22, 1962 to Marion Ferrill Hinson and Alice Victoria “Vicki” Horton Hinson. A minister with the Assemblies of God, he had served as an evangelist in several churches recently but was a member of Magnolia Assembly of God in Grove Hill. He enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing and the University of Alabama football.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his wife, Tonya McCreary Hinson; mother, Vicki Horton Hinson; children, Michael Edward (Anna) Hinson, James Luke (Alicia) Hinson, Savannah Hinson (James) Gallagher; grandchildren, Brooklyn Gallagher, Jon Michael Hinson, Ava Gallagher, Canaan Hinson; siblings, Ferrill Nevell Hinson, Alicia J. “Lisa” Hinson Bailey and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 27, 2019 at Bassett Creek Baptist Church in Grove Hill with the Rev. Angel Rodriguez officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Lathan Funeral Home in Grove Hill. Interment will follow the service on Friday at the church cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.

Pallbearers will be CJ Bailey, Ricky Gilchrist, Ricky Hinson, Heath Jernigan, Billy Smith, Robbie Tillman.
