Martha Bedwell

Martha Jo Bedwell, 70, of Jackson, passed away on March 27, 2025, at Jackson Medical Center. She was born in Jackson on January 24, 1955, to parents Angus M. Hoven and Mable Hoven. She graduated from Jackson High School later married Raymond Bedwell and retired from Teledyne. Martha was a passionate fan of The University of Alabama football program, as well as the Jackson Aggies. She loved spending time with her family and she enjoyed her 'girls trip' with her sisters, but most importantly she adored her granddaughters.

Preceded in death by her parents, sisters Ann Parden, Sarah Stanley, Dorothy Wiggins, and brother William Hoven.

Survived by her husband Raymond Bedwell, daughter BB (John) Sims, granddaughters Lilly Sims and Ivy Sims, siblings, Mildred Wade, Allen (Margie) Hoven, Henley (Debbie) Hoven, Pat Butts, Betty (Ralph) Bumpers; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loving friends.

Pallbearers will be Steven Bumpers, Bubba Butts, Jerry Wayne Butts, Duke Parden, Chuck Hoven, Carl Wade and James Wade.

Graveside services will be Monday, March 31, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. at the Winn Community Cemetery on McVay Road, a visitation for family and friends will be from 10-11 a.m. at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson, with Rev. Ralph Wooten and Rev. Tommy Gillard officiating.
