Mary Ann Ready

Mary Ann Motes Ready, 59, died February 9, 2024 with several loved ones by her side. Mary Ann was born January 14, 1965 to James Samuel and Annie Mae Motes. She was a generous woman with a good heart and was always willing to help those in need. She never met a stranger, at least no one who stayed a stranger for very long; she loved to chat and visit with people. Mary Ann loved to travel and enjoyed a few cruises over the years. She also found a thrill in finding vintage items to add to her various collections especially if she found a great deal! From a young age Mary Ann loved animals, especially her mother's poodle; she adored poodles and raised them for many years. Most of all, Mary Ann loved her family and the Lord; her sons were the light of her life.

Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 41 years, Clay Ready, Sr.; sons, Clay "Tarzan" Ready, Jr. and Robin Dewayne "Vito" Ready; brothers, Lamar (Angie) Motes and Gary (Sandra) Motes; best friend, Tina Guy; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is predeceased by her parents and brother, Richard Motes.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 12, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Lathan Funeral Home, Jackson. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Lathan Funeral Home, Jackson at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior and Bro. Tim Sullivan, officiating. Interment will follow in Trinity Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Jason Motes, Mike Ready, Todd Ready, Eddie Wood, Elroy Wade, and Robin "Bo" Roney. Honorary pallbearers will be Colton Ready and James "Bo" Motes.
