Mary Davis

Mary Narvis Reeves Davis, 89, a resident of Jackson, passed away Monday, December 21, 2020. She was born September 29, 1931 to William Lawrence and Mattie Mae Beverly Reeves. On November 27, 1952, she married the love of her life, James E. Davis Sr. She had worked as a telephone operator with South Central Bell as well as a teacher’s aide with the Clarke County Board of Education. A devoted member of Stave Creek Baptist Church, she had taught Sunday School as well as Vacation Bible School.

She is survived by children, Cynthia (Benny) Turberville of Jackson, Jimmy (Susan) Davis of Jackson, Mark (Karen) Davis of Thomasville, Eric (Gina) Davis of Jackson; grandchildren, Leigh Harrell, Amanda (Josh) Shirley, Catherine (Phillip) Bradley, Jami (Daniel) Whillock, Tiffany (Lee) Goldman, Trey (Christy) Davis, Robert (Nikki) Davis, William Davis, Heather Lowe, Nick (Shea) Lowe; 16 great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Irene Harris Reeves and Ouida Davis Morgan as well as many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.

Graveside services will be conducted at Trinity Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 10:00 am with Dr. Andrew Goode and Rev. Josh Shirley officiating. Pallbearers will be William Davis, Lee Goldman, Daniel Whillock, Paul McElroy, Benny Turberville, Trey Davis, Robert Davis and DeRan Morgan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stave Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
