Mary Ryser Harvey, 78, of Jackson, passed away on January 6, 2024, at her home with her family by her side. She was born on July 22, 1945, in Jackson to parents Pete and Florence Pace Ryser. Mrs. Harvey graduated from Jackson High School, attended College at Patrick Henry Jr. College, she worked for Bell South for many years, but devoted her career to the family businesses that her and her husband, Howard owned and operated, Radley's Deli, Hub Construction Co., and H&M Real Estate Investments in Jackson, AL. She was a member of Jackson First Baptist Church and loved her church family. She was a talented seamstress, and was known for cooking for everyone, if you were sick you were going to receive a meal, if you came to visit she was going to feed you. Her generosity had no limits.
Mary "lived her faith" every day. Her life was a shining example of how to live a life full of forgiveness, patience, love, peacefulness, kindness, and true goodness. Her never-ending gentle spirit and her faithfulness to her Lord and Savior has shown through to everyone who knew her every single day of her life.
Preceded in death by her parents Pete and Florence Ryser, brothers Pete Ryser Jr., Joseph Ryser, and grandchild Jerry Gunter.
Survived by her husband of 55 years Howard T. Harvey, daughters Sherry Harvey (Dennis) Gray, Elizabeth Harvey (Chip) Boucher, Lori Harvey (Matthew) Gunter, son Richard Howard (Chelsea) Harvey. Grandchildren Jessica (Justin) Snyder, LTC Cole (Ashley) Callahan, Brittney (Ye) Tun, Vernon 'Trey' (Nichole) Slayton, Rachel Knight, Trent (Amy) Slayton, Jon Richard (Jillian) Harvey, Laken Harvey, Keith Huggins, Dylan (Sydnie) Boucher, Matthew Gunter, PFC William Gunter, Jacob Harvey, Garrett Gunter, Nathan Harvey, Matty (Jason) Crumb, Luke Huggins, Jenny Huggins, Dallas (Madeline) Gray. Great grandchildren Kerri Rose Harvey, Bella Tun, Audrey Callahan, Sarah Harvey, David Knight, Julie Callahan, Chezley Griffin, Bentley Boucher, Ryker Callahan, William Knight, Alys Boucher, Mason Slayton, Cruz Boucher, Channing Harvey, Parker Elsie Slayton, Wynonna Tun, Conner Clements, Sayler Crumb, Emmie Crumb, Dutton Gray, Dansby Gray.
