Mary Kennedy

Mary Ann Kennedy, 80, of Millry, passed away May 26, 2023, at her residence. She was born August 31, 1942, to parents George and Martese Atchison. Mary Ann met her husband in Wetumpka, they married in 1962 and later moved to Millry, where she reared her children and looked after all of her family. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Jimmy Hollis Kennedy, her parents, George and Martese Atchison, sisters-in-law Sandy Atchison and Kathy Atchison.

Survived by her children, Lesa (Greg) Goldman, James Clint (Bridget) Kennedy, , Holly (Kyle) Adams, grandchildren Tiffany Gordan, Brett Kennedy, Sydney Brown, Dayton Adams, Dalton Adams, Eli Adams, Kyleigh Adams, great grandchildren Jase Brown, Layla Kennedy, Ellie Brown, Weston Kennedy, Presley Gordon, Lawson Kennedy, niece Amber Smith, siblings, MaeDean (William) Hill, Frank (Linda) Atchison, Johnny Atchison, Jimmy (Sue) Atchison, David (Lindy) Atchison.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Atchison, Wilson Dixon, Rodney Wright, Billy Brown, Danny Smith, and Levi Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Atchison, David Atchison, Frank Atchison, Johnny Atchison, and William Hill.

The family wished to offer a special word of thanks to Kare in Home Hospice and caretaker Virginia Copeland.

Funeral Services will be Friday June 2, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Lathan Funeral Home in Chatom, with a visitation one hour prior to services with Bro. Michael Smith officiating. Burial will be at the Brown Cemetery in Millry.
