Mary Sims

Mary A. Weaver Sims, 58, of Theodore, passed away Monday, August 16, 2021 at Springhill Medical Center in Mobile. She was born in Mobile on January 22, 1963 to Fred Benton Weaver and Barbara Rose Howard Weaver, both of whom preceded her in death. She had been employed as a waitress at Waffle House for many years and enjoyed playing bingo at Bingo Haven in Mobile. She also enjoyed casino games on her phone and in person and was fan of the television programs, Golden Girls and Big Bang Theory. In addition, she was an avid fan of The University of Alabama football team.
She is survived by her children, Barbara Sims, Tony Benton Sims; grandchildren, Kiara Gros, Christopher Sims, Christina Bolivar, Matthew Sims, Nova Hadley; great-grandson, Anthony West, Jr.; siblings, Mike (Lupe') Weaver, Mable Weaver, Marilyn (William) Flowers, twin sister, Sherry (Bob) Simmons and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Magnolia Holiness Church in McIntosh with the Rev. Mike Smith officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Michael Sims, Tony Sims and T.J. Sims.
