Maurice Elizabeth Fleming

Maruice Elizabeth Dunlavy Fleming of Whatley passed away December 21, 2024. Maurice was born on August 18, 1937 to Martin Owen Dunlavy Jr. and Ina Mae Moss Dunlavy Cruitt. Maurice leaves behind memories cherished by her family and friends whose lives she deeply touched. She loved her children deeply and found the most joy in life through her beloved grandchildren; she made each one feel as special as they have always been to her. She was an amateur-professional photographer and enjoyed capturing every precious moment of her cherished Family Time with her camera. Maurice was also an amazing cook whose culinary delights will be greatly missed. Her favorite place to visit was the Smoky Mountains; she never missed an opportunity to join her family on a trip to her favorite place of peace.

In the quiet moments of reflection, let us honor Maurice's memory by embracing the beauty of each fleeting moment, knowing that her spirit resides in the arms of her Heavenly Father as well as in our hearts.

Maurice is preceded in death by her parents; son, Darryl Lambert; and dear friend, Beth Mason Briele.

She is survived by her half-brother, Harold Dunlavy; daughter, Diane (Scott) Oliver; sons, Ricky Fleming, Bruce (Traci) Fleming, and Marty Fleming; dearest friends, Elizabeth Perryman Mason, Charles Mason, and Laura Mason Sellers; as well as many additional extended family members and friends.

Services will be held Friday, December 27, 2024 at Lathan Funeral Home, Chatom. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral begins at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Jeff Walters, officiating. Interment will follow in Springbank Cemetery.
