Melanie Garcia

Melanie Sue Garcia, 32, of Chatom, passed away December 12, 2016 at Jackson Medical Center. She was born in Jackson on July 13, 1984 to James Elvin and Shirley Ann Sullivan. She had been employed as a nurse and loved her family.


She was preceded in death by her parents; step-son, Christopher Garcia and brother, Robert Sullivan.


She is survived by her husband, John Garcia; children, Michael Garcia, Kathy Ann Garcia; step-daughter, Emily Garcia; grandchild, Aiden Dunn and siblings, William (Ann) Sullivan, Sammy (Jennifer) Sullivan, Carol Henson Vess, Anita Flinn and Susan Whitman.


Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Lathan Funeral Home in Chatom with the Rev. Frankie Dunn officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Jones Hill Cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.


Pallbearers were James Morgan, Tommy Dickie, William Sullivan, Jay Jones, Benny Dickie and Michael Mansley.
