Mera Roberts

Mera Roberts, 77, of Jackson, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Mobile Infirmary. She was born May 7, 1942 to Mermon and Odie Clara Anderson Roberts. A member of Witch Creek Baptist Church in Campbell, she had a long career as an operator with AT&T. After graduating from Coffeeville High School, she pursued her interest in foreign languages, teaching herself Spanish and German.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Sue Carol Atchison, Jeanette White, Iris Harwell and Betty Jo Mitchem.

She is survived by her siblings, Inez Fleming, Ronita Hudson, Ramona Sisk, Len (Edna Lynn) Roberts; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 24, 2019 at Witch Creek Baptist Church in Campbell with the Revs. Wilson Bennett and Phillip Godwin officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.

Pallbearers will be Brett Atchison, Frankie Harwell, David Harwell, Chris Harwell, Jon Harwell and Joey Fleming.

Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Bullock, Jim White, Jason White, Blaine Champion, Chester Anderson and John Dayton Wimpee.
