Michael Floyd “Smack” Gregory, 62, of Grove Hill, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery. He was born in Selma on March 15, 1958 to Frank Audie Gregory and Gladys Marie Garrick Gregory, both of whom preceded him in death. He was employed with Louisiana Pacific as heavy equipment operator and was a member of Horeb Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, driving four-wheel drive trucks, watching the University of Alabama football team, and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his brother, Bryan (Lucinda) Gregory; nephews, Aaron Gregory, Avery (Lauren Jett) Gregory; great-nieces, Harper Lane Gregory, Ayden Jett and numerous friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Magnolia Lawn Cemetery in Grove Hill with the Rev. Renea Henderson officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Brian Gregory, Aaron Gregory, Avery Gregory and Roland Duke.
Honorary pallbearers will be T.C. Duncan, Dale Dumas, Dean Dumas, Jason Garrick, Carl Hicks, Ted Hicks and Maurice Paul.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be donated to The Clarke County Animal Shelter in Grove Hill.
