Michael Grinstead

Michael Anthony Grinstead, 67 of Chatom, AL passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, peacefully at his home. Mike was born on June 18, 1957, in Chatom, AL to his parents Fred and Doris Grinstead. Mike worked in the trucking industry but trucking was more than his job, it was his world. He loved to share his stories and experiences of trucking through his teachings while being a Certified Commercial Driving Instructor. Mike had many other interests and passions such as Alabama football, fishing, boating, and spending time with friends and loved ones. He especially enjoyed saltwater fishing and took great pride in tending to his yard & garden. Mike had a big heart and all that knew him knew he was always there to help whenever needed. He will be greatly missed!

He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Doris Grinstead and his sister Pamela McDaniel.

He is survived by his sister, Sonja Davis of Raleigh, NC.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Lathan Funeral Home in Chatom on Saturday, September 7, 2024. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Reynolds Holiness Church Cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home Directing.
