Michael Parham

Michael Walter Parham, 61, of Orange Beach, died March 13, 2024. Michael, or Mike as he was known, was born October 17, 1962 to Paul Henry II and Molly Chaney Parham. Mike was raised in Jackson where he was a member of Tompkins Baptist Church. He graduated from Jackson Academy in 1981 followed by Troy University where he served as president of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. After college, Mike's first job was with ASI in Birmingham as a safety inspector. He returned home to Jackson where he worked for Parham and Parham until the business closed. He later opened Mater's Restaurant & Catering where he was known for his customer service and passion for delicious food. Mike retired approximately seven years ago to Orange Beach.

Mike was an avid outdoorsman and known for being a "gentleman hunter" despite his best efforts. He was known for his huge, generous heart and his quick wit; he loved to laugh and bring a smile to the faces of those around him. Mike loved spending time with his family especially his son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter. Mike will be dearly missed by all who loved him.

Mike is survived by his son, Michael Parham II (Abby); granddaughter, Brenlee Parham; mother, Molly Parham; former wife and friend, Donna Parham; and brother, Trae Parham (Paige); as well as Andrew Williams whom Mike loved like a son and Louise Vaughn who was an integral part of his upbringing and whom he loved dearly.

He is preceded in death by his father, Paul H. Parham II, and sister, Deborah Parham Bolton.

Services will be held Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Tompkins Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral begins at 12:00 p.m. with Bro. Johnny Kendrick officiating. Interment will follow in Trinity Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Williams, Rob Calabrese, Sam Curtis, Jake Kendrick, Embrel "Jr." Vaughn, Billy Kendrick, Billy Brewer, and Shane Sturdivant.
