Mildred Covington

Mildred Kohen “Sue” Covington, 90, of Saraland, passed away Friday, August 30, 2019 at her residence. She was born December 23, 1928 to Millard F. Kohen and Carrie Frost Kohen in Millry. A homemaker, she was a member of West Chickasaw Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Thomas Richard Covington, Jr. and siblings, Herschel F. Kohen, Rubye Balsamo, Bill Kohen and Dempsey Kohen

She was survived by children, Zander R. (Mamie) Covington, Richard K. (Gail) Covington, Aletta C. (Frank) Slavis; grandchildren, Richard (Jenny) Covington Ashley (Josh) Griffin, Sherri S. (Mike) Seback, Jenny (Jia) C. Li, Bradley Glenn (Tonya) Covington, Brandon Thomas (Jemma) Garcia; great-grandchildren, Joseph Seback, Abigail Griffin, Sawyer Griffin and brother, W.E. “Gene” Kohen.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at Lathan Funeral Home in Chatom with the Rev. Anthony Lumpkin officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Cullomburg Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Kohen, Gary Davidson, Mike Seback, Richard Covington, Josh Griffin and Jia Li.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Kohen and Brad McGilberry.
