Milton Sheffield

Milton Estes Sheffield, 79, of Grove Hill died Friday, March 24, 2023. Estes was born May 30, 1943 to Willie D. and Katie Lou Sheffield. He was a member of Bassetts Creek Baptist Church. A lover of the outdoors, Estes enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He especially loved growing tomatoes and watermelons! He also enjoyed playing sports including basketball and softball.

Estes is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Betty Jean Sheffield and brothers, Frazier D. Sheffield and Willis Elisha Sheffield; sisters, Lillis Luker, Clara Lee Barlow and Martha Ann Pope.

He is survived by his sons, Milton (Kim) Sheffield, Johnny Wayne (Cecille) Sheffield; daughter, Cynthia Marie Sheffield; brothers, Billy Frank Sheffield, William David Sheffield, Coma Wayne Sheffield, and Marvin Aris Sheffield; sisters, Marie Ott, Mageline Jordan and Eula Sheffield; 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be held Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at Lathan Funeral Home, Grove Hill. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the service begins at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Leon Harrison officiating. Interment will follow in Magnolia Lawn Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Johnny Pugh, Wendell Pugh, Matthew Sheffield, David Neal, Dan Sheffield and William Hughes.
