Miriam Pugh Nichols, 81, of Coffeeville, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at her residence. She was born August 23, 1937 to Ted and Bessie Lee Pugh. A member of New Prospect Baptist Church in Coffeeville, she was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and working in her yard, especially with flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard Glenn Nichols and sister, Shelby McDonald.
She is survived by her daughters, Lynn N. (James "Bubba") Rachel, Angie N. (Glenn) Dunnam; grandchildren, Dr. James Nicholas (Lauren) Rachel, Jonathan Howard (Angela) Rachel, Candice Dunnam (Clayton) Hadley, Christopher Glenn (Corwren) Dunnam and great-grandchildren, Tyler Rachel, Jack Rachel, Helen Rachel, Byrnes Rachel, Clayton Paul, Raylon Hadley, Canaan Dunnam and Howard Rachel.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Magnolia Lawn Cemetery in Grove Hill with the Rev. Glenn Dunnam officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Bubba Rachel, Nicholas Rachel, Jonathan Rachel, Christopher Dunnam, Clayton Hadley and Glenn Dunnam.
Honorary pallbearers will be employees of SouthernCare Hospice, and special note of appreciation to Coutney Clements, R.N. and Tammy Ruffins, CNA for the care given during the last few months.
