Mittie Roberts

Mittie S. Roberts, 91, of Wagarville died January 31, 2021. She was born November 27, 1929 to Walter Lee Sr and Laura Sullivan. Mittie was a lifelong resident of Wagarville where she was a member of Wagarville Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing softball well into her 40s and was an avid bowler until the age of 84. Mittie was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 348 in Mobile as well as the Daughter’s of the Confederacy Pvt. Gibeon Jefferson Sullivan 2662. Many fun-filled afternoons were spent sipping coffee and playing cribbage or other card games with her family.

Mittie is predeceased by her parents, husband, Charles J. Roberts; son, Jerry Wayne Perkins; and four siblings.

She is survived by her children, John Lee “Butch” Perkins (Susan), Tommy J. Roberts (Debbie), and Laura Sanders (David); 11 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held at Wagarville Baptist Church Cemetery on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at 10:00 am with Bro. Bill Dortch officiating. Active pallbearers will be Chris Lankford, David Sanders, Steven Stokes, Mikey Emmons, Holden Sullivan and Matt Howard. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Roberts, Lemmie Gibson and Rebecca Roberts.
