John David Miller, Jr., 83, of Jackson, passed away April 14, 2017 at Springhill Memorial Hospital in Mobile. He was born May 8, 1933 to John David Miller, Sr. and Martha Rogers Miller. He was a graduate of The University of West Alabama, a member of Jackson First United Methodist Church, the American Legion Post 385 and had retired after 33 years as a training technician with Texaco. He had also enjoyed several years of service to the clients of CCARC.
He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Ashley Miller
He is survived by his sons, Edward David (Felicia) Miller of Seal Beach, CA, Claude Embry (Heather) Miller of Jackson; grandchildren, Claude Embry Miller II, Bailey Ayers (Andrew) Harris, Claire Adams Miller; great-grandchildren, Colton Miller, Gracie Miller, Lucas Harris, Zoe Harris; numerous cousins and friend, Debbi George
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson with the Rev. Alan Gantzhorn officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Cemetery in Jackson with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Bryon Catrett, Bud Rogers, Paul Blount, Bob Stewart, Mac Stewart and Norvelle Jones.
George Morton and Kenneth Stewart will serve as honorary pallbearers.
