Mrs. Luceil Carpenter

Lucile Elizabeth Carpenter, 88, passed away September 9, 2016. She was born June 28, 1928 to William and Edna Walker. She had been employed as a bookkeeper with H.H.S. Inc. in Tuscaloosa.


She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Bodie Martin Carpenter who passed away the previous day.


She is survived by her children, K. Jeff (Linda) Houston, William Andrew (Linda) Houston, Charlene Sturdivant, Dharlene (Jimmy) Tudor; step-children, Wallace R. Carpenter, Dale V. Carpenter, Darlene Curry, Earl (Georgia) Thomas, John (Joyce) Thomas, Louise (Frank) Griffin, Brenda Jones and siblings, Lynn Hubbard and Peggy Landers.


Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, September 12, 2016 at Spring Hill Baptist Church for Mr. and Mrs. Carpenter with the Revs. Jim O'Neil, Scotty Carpenter and Kenneth Hanson officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the church cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
