Mrs. Mary Upchurch

Mary Sollie Upchurch (known as Maw Maw Sollie), age 96, a resident of Dickinson, AL passed away on Thursday September 8, 2016 in Jackson, AL. Mrs. Upchurch was born on July 4, 1920 to Clifford Buckalew and Mary Bell Walker Buckalew. Mary was a retired practical nurse from Grove Hill Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 husbands, Alfred Sollie and John Upchurch; daughter-in-law, Betty Sollie; brother, Jack Buckalew; 2 sisters, Maxine McDonald and Marshall Overstreet and 2 grandchildren, Joyce Greek Sollie and J.J. Sollie. Survivors include her 3 sons: Glenn Sollie of Dothan, AL, Terry (Gayle) Sollie of Dickinson, AL and Joel (Lenora) Sollie of Mobile, AL; daughter, Ginger (Perry) Callaway of Dickinson, AL; 12 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 10:00a.m. at Lathan Funeral Home in Grove Hill with Bro. Bo Brantley, Jeff Sollie and Dereck Callaway officiating. Burial will follow at Magnolia Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Cody Gunter, Cole Johnson, Chase Gunter, Seth Drinkard, Spencer Floyd, Storm Floyd and Camden Windham.
