Mr. Stanley Knapp

Stanley Leon Knapp, 66, of Saraland passed away October 28, 2015 at his residence. He was born July 9, 1944. He had resided in Saraland for the past fifteen years, but he had spent most of his life prior to that in the Tibbie community. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. A retired U.S. Army veteran, he also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.


He is preceded in death by his parents, Chester Lee and Dorothy C. Knapp.


He is survived by his wife Tommie P. Knapp of Saraland; son, Jason (Shellanna) Knapp of Saraland; brother, Wesley (Valerie) Knapp of Tibbie; grandchildren, Kirstin Knapp and Tyler Knapp.


Funeral services will be Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church in Seaboard with the Rev. Darryl Brunson officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.


Pallbearers will be David Bryars, Andy Timothy, Chris Williams, Casey Parnell, Chris Knight and Gaylon Dees.


Ralph Grisham will be an honorary pallbearers.
