Myra Beth James Bumpers, 68, of Jackson, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Springhill Medical Center in Mobile. She was born in Clarke County on December 2, 1952 to Albert Earl James, Sr. and Tossie Elaine Dungan James. She was a member of West Bend Baptist Church in Coffeeville and retired as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Family Medical in Jackson. She enjoyed sewing, traveling and camping, but her favorite activity was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Albert "Johnny" James, Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Carl W. Bumpers; children, Leslie W. (Jill) Bumpers, Beverly Bumpers (Jonathan) Chance; grandchildren, Andrew Bumpers, Emma Bumpers, Will Bumpers, Annalee Chance, Brylee Chance; siblings, Elaine (Kenneth) McIntyre, Phyllis (Benny) Harrison, Joe (Winnie) James, Tim (Paulette) James and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at West Bend Baptist Church with the Rev. Irby Weaver officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Bumpers, Les Bumpers, Will Bumpers, Jonathan Chance, Brian James and Jason James.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jared Harrison, Rodney Harrison, Eli James, Noa James, Ken McIntyre and Kyle McIntyre.
