Nathalee Hodge Brooks, 85, of Coffeeville, passed away Friday, November 15, 2019 at Mobile Infirmary. She was born April 8, 1934 to Amos Lee Autry and Mary Esther McIntyre Autry in Coffeeville. A lifelong member and Sunday School teacher at Ulcanush Baptist Church in Coffeeville, she had also been employed as the cafeteria manager at Coffeeville High School for more than 20 years. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands, James “Bud” Brooks and Grover D. Hodge.
She is survived by her children, Martha Hodge (Daniel) Wynn, Diane Hodge (Terry) Hooper, Wendell (Candace) Hodge; grandchildren, Shannon (Mark) Courington, Neil (Melodye) Hooper, Jamie (Murray) Sikes; great-grandchildren, Weston Whitewolf, Tatum Courington, Triston Hooper, Nova Hooper, Whitley Sikes; sisters, Margaret Jane Seymour, Patricia Harvey and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 18, 2019 at Ulcanush Baptist Church with the Revs. Jesse Griffith and Larry Cox officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, November 17, 2019 and again at 10 a.m. on Monday at the church. Interment will follow the service on Monday in the church cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Neil Hooper, Mark Courington, Weston Whitewolf, Kirk York, Bob York, Russell Harvey, David Harvey and Murray Sikes.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Ulcanush Baptist Church Cemetery Committee.
