Norma Jean Busby, 54, of Chatom, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at her residence surrounded by family. She was born in Chatom on September 19, 1965 to Norman Rayford Chafin and Dessie Mae Sullivan Chafin. A homemaker, she enjoyed spending time with her extended family, but especially with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed all of the holiday family gatherings, but Christmas was her favorite. She was also an avid fan of the University of Alabama football team and professional wrestling.
She was preceded in death by her father, Norman Chafin; daughter, Casey Morgan Busby and brother, David Chafin.
She is survived by her mother, Dessie Mae Chafin; children, Bridgett Busby, Zachery Busby, Jeremiah (Amiee) Busby, John Busby; grandchildren, Destiny Loper, Morgan Busby, Katina Goodrich, Katie Morgan, Cadance Busby, Casey Busby, Liam Busby, Josh and Madison Hensley, Kaleb Hensley; siblings, Debbie (Mitchell) Ethridge, Larry (Sherry) Chafin, Dan Chafin; special friend and caretaker, Pete Walker; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2020 at Lathan Funeral Home in Chatom with the Rev. Greg Morris officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Yarbo Assembly of God Cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Rob Blake, Eric Chafin, Michael Chafin, Sebastian Chafin, Hunter Garland and Dillon Morgan.
