Norma Faye Chastain Harrison, 89, of Jackson, passed away Friday, September 24, 2021 at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope. She was born in Jackson on October 4, 1931 to Edmund Henry Chastain and Lucille Joiner Chastain. She had been employed with Southern Bell in Anchorage, AK while her husband, who was in the Air Force was stationed there, as well as Jackson when they returned home. She then served as the admissions clerk at Jackson Medical Center for more than 30 years. She was a member of The First Baptist Church of Jackson and the High Acres Supper Club. She enjoyed working in her yard, going to the beach, shopping, eating out, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Turner Harrison, Jr. and brother, Harold Chastain.
She is survived by her children, Suzzane Harrison (Tom) Noble, Shawn Henry (Alica B.) Harrison; grandchildren, Haley Noble (Wes) Godbold, Hylan Elizabeth Noble, Turner Freeman Harrison, Payti Isabel Harrison; great-grandchildren, Trice Wesley Godbold and Beau Alan Godbold; sisters, Wanda Chastain Bowerman, Roxie Chastain Holt and numerous other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Trinity Memorial Gardens with Drs. Ben Stubblefield and Jim DuFriend and officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Chess Bowerman, Scott Chastain, Wes Godbold, David Harrison Turner Harrison and Tom Noble.
While flowers are welcome, donations in her memory may also be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
Due to Covid-19 concerns, it is requested that those in attendance at the service wear a mask.
