Norman Eugene Lathan, 82, of Chatom, passed away February 6, 2022, at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born January 3, 1940, to parents, Floyd and Garnet Wood Lathan. Mr. Lathan was a faithful member of Fairhope Baptist Church and was active in the Shriners and Masons Lodge for 21 years. Norman retired from Ciba Geigy after 33 years as an operator. He was always active in his community helping others and attending the local high school sporting events. There was one thing he truly enjoyed and that was spending time with his family.
Preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Bailey Reese Baxter.
Survived by his wife of 62 years, Ella Lathan, son, Darrell (Gay) Lathan, daughters, Jill (Austin) Baxter, Brenda (Joe) Lundy, and Amanda (Gene) Keller. Grandchildren, Victoria, Doug, Lexie, Devin Lundy, and Aidan, Caleb, and Jacob Baxter. Sisters, Betty Loper, Imogene (Tommy) Dickey, Mary Lou (Blue) Miller. Also many nieces, nephews, and loving friends.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on February 9, 2022 at Fairhope Baptist Church with a visitation from 10-11 a.m. Bro. Larry Darden officiating and Lathan Funeral Home conducting. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Fairhope Baptist Church in honor of Brian Crouch(4010 Boyd-Willie Parnell Road, Tibbie, AL 36558). Pallbearers will be, Lonnie Loper, Terry Loper, Roger Carlisle, Tony Anderson, Doc Godwin, And Henry Ross. Honorary pallbearers, Wayne Blackwell, Dale Carpenter, Dalco Beech, and Ronnie Lambart.
