Norman Douglas Scarbrough, 83, a lifelong resident of Washington County, passed away January 6, 2016 at his residence after a brief illness. He was born March 16, 1932. He was a member and served as a deacon of Laton Hill Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the U.S. Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Lillie Scarbrough.
He is survived by his children, Alan Scarbrough, Trent (Jeannie) Scarbrough; brother, Wilson C. (Jo Ann) Scarbrough; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Laton Hill Baptist Church. Visitation will be Friday, January 8, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at Lathan Funeral Home in Chatom and for half an hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Active Pallbearers will be David Williams, Joe D. Williams, Leo Scarbrough, Ronnie Teynolds, Caleb Scarbrough and Leland James. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kennith Godwin and John Laton.
