Opal Hare

Opal Ann Hare, 47 of Birmingham, went to her heavenly home on July 25, 2024. Opal was born December 30, 1976 in Greenville, SC to Carlos Edward Hare and Gladys Louise Flint. Opal loved her dogs and inherited her Daddy's passion for horses. She enjoyed thrifting and finding those special gifts for her family and loved ones.

Opal is preceded in death by her grandparents, Billy & Mavis Flint, John Harvey and Dorothy Curry; father, Carlos Edward Hare; sister, Carletta Terlouw and uncle, David Flint.

She is survived by her mother, Gladys Flint of Birmingham; her mama, Sheryl Hare of Frankville; two sisters, Savannah Hare of Frankville and Lisa Reeves of Irvington; loving aunts and uncles, Juanita Snider, William Flint Jr, Lee Curry, Ruthie Johnston, Wanda McIntosh, Mary Courtney Howell; Great Uncle and Aunt, Fred & Lois Wilson; as well as one niece, two nephews and numerous cousins.

Services will be held Friday, August 2, 2024 at New Hope Community Church. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral begins at 11:00 a.m. with Mitchell Courtney officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Community Cemetery under the direction of Lathan Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be David Flint, Mike Howell, Harold Courtney, William Steven Flint III, Timothy Snider and Fred Wilson.
