Oris Harrison Jr.

Oris Dicks Harrison, Jr., 84, of Jackson, passed away May 8, 2017 at his residence. He was born August 10, 1932 to Oris Dicks Harrison, Sr. and Iris Gates Harrison. A veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict, he had also been employed as an instrument supervisor at Olin Chemical Corp. and was a member of the Jackson Church of Christ.



He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Dorothy Harrison Fendley.



He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nancy Harper Harrison; children, Terry Harrison and wife, Vickie, Sissy Reeves and husband, Kenny, all of Jackson; grandchildren, Russell Harrison and wife, Candace, Ryan Harrison, Jason Reeves and wife, Brittney, Jody Wade and husband, Walt, Jeremy Reeves and fiance', Jenn Chapman; great-grandchildren, Amelia Harrison, Avery Wade, Dax Wade and brother, Billy Jack (Bonnie) Harrison of Sweetwater.



Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10 at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson with William Allison and Brian Gentle serving as the officiating ministers. Visitation will begin at 11:30. Interment will take place at Trinity Memorial Gardens.



Active pallbearers will be Russell Harrison, Ryan Harrison, Jason Reeves, Jeremy Reeves, Drew Harper and Brad Harrison.



Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Atchison, Roy Schell, Royce Hutcheson, Robert Hutto and Charlie Etheredge.
