Pauline “Polly” Johnson, 87, of Grove Hill, passed away Monday, April 13, 2020 at Jackson Medical Center. She was born in Jackson on October 12, 1932 to Glover Wade Horton, Sr. and Gwendolyn Finch Horton. A member of Grove Hill United Methodist Church, she had been employed with the Alabama Department of Transportation. She enjoyed reading, Facebook and was a fan of The University of Alabama football team.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Justin Dwight Johnson and siblings, Glover W. Horton, Jr., Winston Horton, Louise Johnston and Jeannette H. Booth.
She is survived by her children, Shann Waite McGwier, Jimmie Dwight (Jennifer) Johnson, Jr., John David (Kelly) Johnson; grandchildren, John (Jessica) McGwier, Patrick McGwier, Meghan McGwier (Daniel) McAnally, Lauren Johnson (Andy) Slayton, Allison Johnson and siblings, Faye H. Bumpers and Pam H. Ryser.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 17, 2020 at Grove Hill Town Cemetery with Dr. Johnny Kendrick officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Michael Booth, Britt Bumpers, Wesley Bumpers, David Horton, Edward Ryser and Jody Ryser
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Booth, Doug Booth, Kenny Finch, Lee Hagood, Robert Hagood, Adam Wilson, Brandon Wilson, Kyle Wilson and Larry Wilson.
