Pearlie Mae Hicks Carpenter, 79, of Millry, passed away on April 12, 2024, at the Washington County Nursing Home with her family by her side. She was born on February 1, 1945 to parents Savall 'Bud' Richland and Janie Lugene Cartwright Hicks.
Preceded in death by her parents, and siblings Nathan Hicks, Edith Lollar, Alice Beasley, Mary Sue Hicks, Lester Leo Hicks. Pearlie enjoyed fishing, spending time on her porch watching the traffic pass. Her life was her family, she loved spending time together, especially the great-grand babies.
Survived by her children Beverly (Randy) Busby, Christopher 'Andy' (Ning) Baxter, Krista (Sherman) Phillips, and Daphne Carpenter, grandchildren Dustin (Elizabeth) Sullivan, Constance (Johnathan) Goldman, Hunter (Shelby) Sullivan, Kerrigan Carpenter, and Blaine Watts, great grandchildren Natalie Sullivan, C.J. Sullivan, Layton Sullivan, Brody Goldman, Ledger Sullivan, Colton Goldman, Annabelle Sullivan, Ryker Long, Lucie Kayte Sullivan, and Oakleigh Abigail Goldman, five step-grandchildren. Also, her dear friend and care giver Marla O'Neal Rutledge, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Sullivan, Hunter Sullivan, Blaine Watts, Johnathan Goldman, Wayne Beasley, Mitchell Beasley, Ronnie Dearmon, and Monte Carpenter.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 15, 2024, at Lathan Funeral Home in Chatom with a visitation one hour prior to the services. Rev. Mikey Loper and Rev. Leon Parnell officiating, burial will be at Yellow Pine Community Cemetery following the service. Online condolences may be shared at www.lathanfuneralhome.com
