Peggy Jon Bradford Strong, 86, of Jackson, passed away on September 15, 2022, at her home in Josephine, Alabama surrounded by her children and three of her grandchildren. She was born on September 2, 1936, to parents Gerald and Gladys Tucker Bradford. Peggy attended St. Peters Episcopal Church and was the church organist for many years, and always filled in when needed. Mrs. Strong loved teaching, she taught kindergarten for 36 years, and still recognized her students 30 years later, and knew who they were. She loved and valued her friends and neighbors. She enjoyed reading books, and the librarians that provided them for her. She lived a very simple and uncomplicated life, taking pleasure in family, friends, and food, especially food! She had a special relationship with her brother and enjoyed a family competition about who was the best cook and they loved to talk about the books they had just read. Peggy and her husband Lane spent their summers at their house in Josephine giving their family enough love and memories to last a lifetime.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband Charnic Lane Strong, and sister Jean Eastman.
Survived by her children Jody Page and John Strong, grandchildren Bragg Strong, Morgan Dial, Richard Page, Lanie Page, and Elizabeth Page, brother John Bradford.
No services will be held at this time, in lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to St. Peters Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 146 Jackson, AL 36545 or St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Online condolences may be shared at www.lathanfuneralhome.com
